Engines
Launched in the CX-60 as Mazda’s first PHEV powertrain, the CX-80’s 2.5-litre 4cyl Skyactiv-G petrol engine is combined with 129kW electric motor and 17.8kWh battery to deliver a combined output of 327ps with 500Nm of torque. The powertrain is exclusively-mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Mazda’s i-Activ all-wheel drive system.
The award-winning e-Skyactiv D engine features a highly innovative, advanced combustion technology: Distribution-Controlled Partially Premixed Compression Ignition (DCPCI). It improves engine efficiency, emissions and fuel economy, ensuring the CX-80 has class leading emissions and in fact emits NoX at just one third of the compliance level for the forthcoming Euro 7 regulations.
The e-Skyactiv D powertrain features M Hybrid Boost - Mazda’s 48V Mild Hybrid System, which enables high output combined with excellent fuel economy. Combining the two technologies of hybrid and DCPCI advanced combustion contributes significantly to the CX-60’s outstanding driving range, great driving feel, low fuel consumption and class leading emissions. With 254ps at 3,750rpm and maximum torque of 550Nm at 1,500-2,400 rpm, performance and towing ability is key to the CX-80s appeal.
