Mazda’s award-winning range enhanced with 2021 model year updates
- The five-model updated Mazda2 range features a new better equipped SE-L Nav entry-model.
- Exclusively powered by petrol engines, the 2021 Mazda6 range features seven premium models.
- With a largely unchanged 10-model line-up, the 2021 Mazda MX-5 arrives in January.
After celebrating its centenary last year, 2021 promises to be equally exciting for Mazda as the all-new Mazda MX-30 arrives in UK dealerships in March. Additionally, across the firm’s stylish range the 2021 model year versions of its award-winning line-up ensure that Mazda’s UK dealers will have the very best offerings in their showrooms this year.
The updated Mazda2 range starts with the new entry-level SE-L Nav model, powered by the 75ps Skyactiv-G petrol engine, it features DAB, a 7-inch touch-screen, a multimedia commander and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, all of which were previously not included on the entry-level Mazda2. The compact Mazda2 range features four other models all powered by the 90ps version of the Skyactiv-G engine: SE-L Nav, Sport Nav, Sport Nav Auto and GT Sport Nav. As before, all manual cars feature the Mazda M Hybrid mild-hybrid system.
As popular as ever, the Mazda MX-5 continues to be the performance halo of the Mazda range and the 10-model 2021 Mazda MX-5 range features four Convertible models and six RFs. The range features SE-L, Sport, Sport Tech and GT Sport Tech trim levels and a choice of 132ps 1.5-litre and 184ps 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G engines. Across, the whole range the MX-5 now features wireless Apple CarPlay as standard, while GT Sport Tech models now feature Light Stone Leather, replacing the burgundy leather of the 2020 model year car, plus RF GT Sport Tech cars now have a stand-out black roof.
Now exclusively petrol, the 2021 Mazda6 range features seven models, plus the soon to be announced Kuro Edition limited special edition model, which arrives in March. Matched exclusively to the 145ps Skyactiv-G petrol engine, both the Saloon and Tourer ranges start with the SE-L grade, while Sport models feature the 165ps version of the same engine. Step up to the GT Sport and you get Mazda’s flagship 194ps 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G engine, which is matched exclusively to an automatic gearbox. Across all models, the 2021 Mazda6 now features wireless Apple CarPlay, while the option of Polymetal Grey paint has been introduced to the Mazda6 for the first time.
Featuring Mazda’s latest Skyactiv-Architecture and the ground-breaking Spark Controlled Compression Ignition Skyactiv-X engine the Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 continue to highlight the very latest in Mazda’s technology, design, quality and equipment. Whether powered by the Skyactiv-X or Skyactiv-G petrol engine, as before all models in the range feature Mazda M Hybrid, as part of an electrification strategy that sees the launch of the all-new Mazda MX-30.
Arriving in January the updated 2021 Mazda CX-5 range will feature the 194ps 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine in the UK for the first time. Also new for 2021 is the option to have the 184ps Skyactiv-D diesel engine with front-wheel drive, while across all models feature a new larger 10.2-inch central screen and LED interior lighting. Sport and GT Sport grade cars get a new colour TFT instrument display and improved parking camera resolution.
