Two Limited Editions add to enhanced line-up for Mazda2

The Mazda2 is the Japanese brand’s best-selling model in the UK and the 2014 range comprises six petrol-powered models – all in five-door hatchback guise – priced from just £11,195 on-the-road (OTR).
Buyers have the choice of two punchy and economical MZR petrol engines – a 1.3-litre engine with outputs of 75ps and 84ps, and available on all manual transmission models, and a bigger 102ps 1.5-litre motor – mated to smooth-shifting four-speed automatic transmission.
The line-up comprises six trim levels – SE Air Con, Tamura, Tamura Nav Auto and Sport Venture, with the two exciting new Colour Edition and Sport Colour Edition limited run models rounding up the range.
Standard equipment levels are exceptionally generous, with all models featuring alloy wheels, rear roof spoiler, remote central locking, air-conditioning, electric front windows, electric door mirrors, CD radio with USB connectivity and a Thatcham Category 1 alarm as standard.
The Mazda2 range boasts a dynamic design, which blends the brand’s ‘family face’ with a large five-point grille and large Mazda badge. A stiff bodyshell, soft mountings for the rear trailing arms and re-tuned rear dampers give the Mazda2 superior road holding and ride comfort.
Inside, finishes and decorative parts give a high quality feel throughout the cabin thanks to the design of the instrument panel, ‘blackout’ finish dials with chrome rings, and sporty seats.
Owing to its lightweight construction, the Mazda2 combines spirited performance and remarkable fuel economy with outstanding handling and dynamics, for a truly spirited sporty drive.
The 1.3-litre MZR engine is available with 75ps and 84ps outputs, while the 1.5-litre MZR generates 102ps. The Mazda2 Tamura Nav Auto combines the powerful 1.5-litre MZR petrol engine with a four-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy ranges from 44.8 up to 56.5mpg (combined cycle), while CO₂ emissions start as low as 115g/km up to 145g/km.
Prices for the Mazda2 range from just £11,195 (OTR) for the Mazda2 SE Air Con to £13,495 for the flagship Sport Venture model.
The bold new Colour Edition and Sport Colour Edition models – respectively priced at £11,745 and £12,995 (OTR) – combine exclusive styling touches with a long list of standard equipment. Powered by the peppy 75ps MZR 1.3-litre engine with five-speed manual transmission, the Colour Edition features 11 items of additional equipment over the SE Air Con model.
The Sport Colour Edition, which is powered by the punchier 84ps version of Mazda’s MZR 1.3-litre engine, adds a further 11 luxury and convenience items. Both of the new models are available in a choice of three finishes – True Red (solid), Crystal White (Pearlescent, £520) and Aluminium Silver (Metallic, £520).
