Model Press Release
Priced from £17,810 to £24,335 on the road, the Mazda6 is positioned as an athletic, engaging and stylish hatchback and estate in the fiercely competitive family car sector.
The Mazda6 is immediately distinguished by its boldly styled front and rear - it features Mazda's distinctive family face complete with silver-backed headlamps and fog lamp bezels for a dynamic and incisive visage. Similarly, the rear of both hatch and estate models feature strikingly styled tail lights.
Inside, the Mazda6 features silver ringed dials and controls in the driver's instrument binnacle, while the centre console and steering wheel spokes are finished in high-gloss piano-black trim. The sweeping dashboard has a soft and tactile casing for a heightened sense of quality.
The Mazda6 has seven equipment levels - S, TS, Business Line, TS², Takuya, Venture Edition and Sport - all deliver class-leading levels of standard safety and convenience equipment. Equipment on the Mazda6 encompasses 'smart' turn indicators and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) for all models, while models further up the range benefit from an aerodynamic rear spoiler, front and rear parking sensors, Hill Hold Assist and Bi-Xenon headlights with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS).
The Mazda6 range comes with choice of six engines - three petrol and three turbo diesel powerplants, available with five and six-speed manual transmissions or five-speed automatic gearboxes.
The petrol engine line-up comprises of the 120ps 1.8-litre MZR, the 155ps 2.0-litre MZR DISI and the punchy 170ps 2.5-litre MZR performance flagship, while the diesel range comprises of three variants of Mazda's acclaimed 2.2-litre MZR-CD turbo-charged unit that deliver 129ps, 163ps and 180ps.
All powerplants are tuned to deliver better economy and lower emissions, delivering exceptionally competitive CO₂ emission levels from just 133g/km and combined economy of up to 55.4mpg. Across the range, the diesel engines are now 4.1 percent more economical and benefit from a 6 percent drop in average CO₂ emission levels. The petrol powerplants enjoy similar gains, with a 3.2 percent average increase in fuel economy and a 4.4 percent drop in average CO₂ emissions.
The Mazda6's award-winning dynamism is enhanced by a double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension layout that features uprated dampers fine-tuned to deliver improved handling stability and ride comfort, while the electrically-assisted steering is tuned to deliver greater accuracy and driver feedback.
With its bold styling, extensive range of clean and fuel-efficient petrol and turbo-diesel engines, high levels of standard safety, luxury features and engaging driving dynamics, the Mazda6 is perfectly positioned to deliver exceptional value for money for private and corporate buyers alike.
