Mazda's Mazda Connect in-car connectivity system ushers in new levels of connectivity in the supermini sector with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ available as standard across the range. Apple CarPlay is wireless from Sport trim upwards. Accessed via the 7-inch Colour touch-screen display or the Multimedia Commander, the supermini also features DAB radio, auxiliary (AUX) and USB inputs as standard.
Cabin Design
The Mazda2’s reach-and rake adjustable steering wheel, perfectly positioned pedals, supportive front seats and deep-set instrument panel highlight the cabin’s driver focused approach. This driver-centric cabin design is further emphasised by the GT Sport’s Colour Active Driving Display (Head-Up Display). Additional premium features include heated front seats and steering wheel on the GT Sport.
Safety First
The 2022 Mazda2 is equipped with an array of standard safety equipment levels, including Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Emergency Stop Signalling (ESS), Hill Hold Assist (HHA). In addition, the safety equipment tally is enhanced with Advanced Front Smart City Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning, Lane-keep Assist for the 90ps SE-L model. The range-topping GT Sport Tech benefits from Driver Attention Alert, Blind Sport Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Smart City Brake Support Rear and a 360 degree camera.
Economy and Emissions
Across all models the 2022 Mazda2’s 1.5-litre petrol engine has been refined to offer considerable efficiency improvements. The compression ratio has increased from 13.1 to 15.1 with the exhaust upgraded from a 4-1 to a 4-2-1 manifold. As a result Co2 emissions have dropped by 11 to 14g/km depending on output and transmission. As an example the popular 90ps Sport manual has dropped from 120g/km to 107g/km, while across the range the corresponding improvements in economy further enhance the Mazda2’s excellent cost of ownership credentials.
Refinement
Despite its lightweight and stiff chassis, exceptionally high refinement levels and interior quietness have been achieved in the Mazda2. Thanks to the damping materials throughout the cabin, reduction in the gap around the base of the B-Pillar, upgrades to the sound insulation and revised rubber sealings, occupants will be able benefit from reduced cabin noise and external vibrations compared to the last generation.
