These i-Activsense intelligent sensor-based systems aim to minimise the risk of an accident by helping the driver recognise hazards, maximise the range of conditions in which the driver can safely operate the vehicle, and reduce the severity of accidents when they cannot be avoided for both occupants and pedestrians.

All models feature Driver Attention Alert, Lane Tracing Assist and Road Sign Assist, while from Exclusive-Line onwards Blind Spot Monitor is standard and Homura and Homura Plus adds Rear Cross Traffic Alert. These active safety systems compliment the robust passive safety in the Mazda2 Hybrid’s delivered by the ultra-rigid bodyshell of the Mazda2 Hybrid, which provides an incredibly strong and lightweight protective safety cell around the driver and passengers.
