The Mazda6e achieved a maximum five-star rating by Euro NCAP, in the two categories of Adult Occupant and Child Occupant protection, Mazda’s new all-electric model scored an excellent 93 per cent. The Mazda6e was also rated 74 per cent for the protection of Vulnerable Road Users and 77 per cent for its safety assist systems.

In the Child Occupancy category, Mazda’s new five-door hatchback also scored 93% overall and achieved maximum points in crash test performance with both Frontal and Lateral Impact based on six- and ten-year-old children. The correct installation of child seats – CRS Installation Check – also received full marks, and the Mazda6e’s Occupancy Monitoring System received positive recognition.

Mazda6e’s comprehensive range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) helped it secure a solid 77% Safety Assist rating. The AEB system reacted well to other vehicles. The standard driver status monitor detected fatigue and distraction, the lane support system gently corrected the vehicle’s path, and the speed assistance system identified local speed limits.

Included as standard across both models, the suite of active safety equipment includes ADAS items such as Smart Brake Support (SBS), Distance ＆ Speed Alert, Forward obstruction Warning (FOW), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RCTB), Door Open Warning (DOW), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK), Secondary Collision Warning (SCR) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

The technology package seamlessly monitors the surroundings with the help of the latest megapixel cameras, millimetre-wave radar and ultrasonic radar. Plus, should the worse happen, the Mazda6e has nine airbags to protect the driver and the passengers: front driver and passenger airbags, a far-side airbag between front seats, front side airbags, rear side airbags, and curtain airbags.
