Exterior
The Mazda CX-6e is available in seven exterior colours: Crystal White Pearl, Jet Black, Aero Grey, Airstream Blue, Machine Grey, Nightfall Violet and Soul Red Crystal. With all except Jet Black the two-tone design sees the core colour matched to a black roof and black A-pillars. Airstream Blue made its debut on the Mazda2, while Nightfall Violet is a new colour making its debut on the Mazda CX-6e.
The Mazda CX-6’s 468-litre luggage compartment expands to 1,434 litres with the rear seats folded. The boot area combines a low loading lip with a practical shaped opening. An additional 80-litre front storage compartment is suited to charging cables or smaller overnight luggage.
21-inch black machined alloy wheels are standard on Takumi Plus CX-6e and can be added to Takumi models for £1,000. Standard wheels on Takumi are a 19-inch black machined alloy wheel with an aerodynamic ‘form follows function’ design.
The face of the Mazda CX-6e features the famous Mazda signature wing grille surround design, but uniquely for CX-6e it is illuminated to give a stand-out road presence. It also features sequenced illumination when locking, unlocking and charging the car. During this sequence the Mazda badge also illuminates welcoming you to the car in the style of Omotenashi – the traditional Japanese philosophy of wholehearted hospitality and anticipation.
All models in the line-up feature a standard panoramic glass roof that is more than a metre long, which alongside the black two-tone effect of the A-Pillars forms part of the sleek exterior look. The heat-reflective laminated glass bathes the cabin in light while protecting from ultra-violet rays. A one-touch powered sunshade can be rolled out when needed.
The all-new Mazda CX-6e features the new Mazda wordmark on the tailgate, and for the first time on a Mazda SUV, it’s also placed prominently along the gloss black lower side sills below the doors. The front and rear doors are frameless and have flush fitting door handles.
Unique and distinctive surfacing and aero features are clear to see on the Mazda CX-6e’s exterior. Above the grille the header panel features an aerodynamic vent that allows air to pass between the top surface and grille below before exiting over the bonnet. While on the side floating D-Pillars and slim rear lamps create a chiselled channel for air to flow through as it passes down the side of the car.
With a 2,902mm wheelbase and 4,850mm overall length, the all-new Mazda CX-6e is longer and wider than the Mazda CX-60. But with a 1,620mm overall height it has a lower roofline than both the Mazda CX-60 and the all-new Mazda CX-5.
